WAREHOUSE & DISTRIBUTION Call us for bespoke solutions & advice 232 To ensure the safety and integrity of your racking installation, it is essential that a qualified person inspects it on a regular basis. How often you do this depends on your risk assessment but, as a minimum, it is recommended that inspections are completed annually by an external SEMA Approved Rack Inspector (SARI). Regular checks will ensure you are compliant with workplace health and safety requirements; damaged or unsafe racking is a significant risk that could have serious consequences if it were to fail. At ESE Direct we can arrange an annual inspection by a SEMA Approved Rack Inspector who will provide you with a detailed written report. If any repair work is needed, we are happy to provide a written quotation. The rack safety inspection is carried out in accordance with BS EN 15635:2008 Steel static storage systems. Application and maintenance of storage equipment and is designed to reflect the assessment of risk as detailed in The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998. An inspection can often identify the need to install anti-collapse mesh which increases the safety of your racking system. The panels are constructed from steel mesh with steel edging and attach to the rear of pallet racking. This prevents items falling through onto pedestrian walkways or work areas and significantly reduces the risk of injury.
